Enriching Lives Through Community Partnerships

At Optima Living, we believe in fostering vibrant, engaging, and supportive environments for our residents. Our commitment to enhancing the lives of seniors extends beyond our doors as we actively seek partnerships with local organizations that share our vision of community and care. Through these collaborations, we bring a wealth of enriching experiences to our residents, ensuring they remain connected, stimulated, and cherished. Here’s how our partnerships are making a difference:

1. Pet Therapy: Bringing Joy with Every Wag

Pets have an incredible ability to uplift spirits and bring smiles to faces. Recognizing the therapeutic benefits of animal companionship, Optima Living has partnered with local pet shelters to facilitate regular visits from pets. These furry friends provide comfort, reduce stress, and enhance the overall well-being of our residents. The joy of a wagging tail or a purring cat also offers a sense of companionship.

2. Supporting Memory Living in Penticton

Understanding the challenges of dementia and Alzheimer’s, The Hamlets at Penticton conducts a monthly dementia support group for families of Memory Living residents and the public. This allows us to provide our residents’ families with the latest resources, support, and programs specifically designed to assist those with memory care needs. We ensure that our residents and their families receive comprehensive support.

3. Intergenerational Connections: Daycares in Residences

At Optima Living, we value the importance of intergenerational connections. The Hamlets at Westsyde’s in-residence daycare hosts an intergenerational program in which team members’ children. Little ones, aged 5 and up, are invited to do activities with Assisted Living and Long-Term Care residents like crafts, painting, games like bean bag toss, and musical singalongs. The Hamlets at Westsyde also has a playground in the Assisted Living courtyard, and residents love to sit outside to watch the children playing and hear their laughter.

4. Engaging with Seniors’ Organizations

Wild Rose’s partnership with the Westend Seniors Activity Centre (WESAC) exemplifies our commitment to active and engaged living. Through this partnership, we offer a variety of programs, including fitness classes, social events, and educational workshops, tailored to the interests and needs of our residents. These activities promote physical health, mental stimulation, and social connections, ensuring our residents enjoy a fulfilling lifestyle.

5. Creative Expression: Artfull Enrichment’s Painting Programs

Creativity knows no age limit. Through our partnership with Artfull Enrichment, we bring painting programs directly to several of our residences. These art sessions provide a wonderful outlet for self-expression, relaxation, and cognitive engagement. Residents discover or rediscover their artistic talents, creating beautiful works of art and experiencing the joy and satisfaction that comes with creative achievement.

At Optima Living, we are dedicated to creating environments where seniors thrive. Our partnerships with local organizations play a crucial role in this mission, bringing a diverse array of programs and services that enrich the lives of our residents. Together, with our community partners, we continue to make a positive impact every day.
